Flaming Great News.......Shamrock BBQ Sunday June 2nd 6pm

posted 30 May 2013, 03:01 by Elaine Sheridan
We’re presently experiencing some ideal BBQ weather here in Ireland at the moment so let’s hope it lasts for the weekend.

No doubt one of the great social gatherings of the Shamrock O-Ringen weekend will be the Shamrock BBQ. This event will provide a perfect occasion to socialise with your fellow orienteers and discuss the day’s adventures or perhaps misadventures on Crohane and Carrigawaddra terrain.

The BBQ will be served at 6pm at the stunning setting of the Killarney Racecourse our event centre for the weekend. Killarney Racecourse is certainly Ireland’s Most Scenic Racecourse and possibly the World’s (they’re not exaggerating here). The magnificent McGuillycuddy Reeks, Lakes of Killarney and Ross Castle will provide a very picturesque backdrop for our BBQ event. The bar will also be open to serve drinks to quench your thirst.

The delicious BBQ menu will include

  • Irish beef steak burger in a floury bap,
  • Jumbo sausage,
  • Citrus marinated chicken paillard,
  • Baked potato and a
  • Choice from a selection of salads.
  • Plus a delicious dessert.
All for the great value price of just €12.

And there’s more..….there will be live music to entertain you while you dine as some traditional Irish musician will play a few jigs and reels between 5:45pm and 8:15pm. Dancing shoes are optional! The BBQ event will be followed by The Shamrock Sessions.

BBQ tickets will be on sale at the Information Desk on Day 1 in the Assembly Area, or at the event centre on the Friday evening. As there is a limited number, please buy these tickets early, they will not be available to buy on the day! BBQ tickets can also be reserved using the online form, but must be paid for at the information desk on Day 1, or at the event centre on Friday evening. Please note at a vegetarian option will also be available to those that specify this when purchasing their ticket.

Don’t miss out! Get your BBQ tickets early!
